Sunaina Talreja

Hailing from Pakistan, Sunaina Taljera is a visual artist, and fashion student living in Rome, Italy She worked as an art therapist and art instructor. Her artwork takes a critical view of social, religious and cultural issues. Often referencing Asia, Sub-continent, her work explores the varying relationships between popular culture and fine art. Having engaged subjects as diverse as social justice, point to stereotypes, and history of modernity, her artistic practices reproduce familiar visual and aural signs, arranging them into new conceptually layered installations. While she uses a variety of materials and processes in each project her methodology is consistent. Each project consists of multiple works, often in a range of different media, grouped around specific themes and meanings
